The Registered Manager

Our home is managed by Stacey Pym, who has 12 years of care experience, 8 of which are in Devon Lodge. Stacey is highly qualified in many areas, but most importantly, she shares the same ethos, passion and shows considerate empathy. The manager promotes fairness and equity throughout the home and will always make time for everyone. I am very proud of the Devon Lodge Team, they promote person-centred care and go the extra mile to personalise the high-quality care residents receive.

Devon Lodge is a home from home feel, where care counts.

Staff

We know the best care is achieved by a continuous commitment to training for all grades of staff. Hence we offer progressive training for all staff up to QCF / Advanced Level Training. Additionally, the company integrate all avenues of training, from statutory training such as moving and handling to more specialised courses such as palliative care and dementia awareness.

Client profile

Devon Lodge can accommodate 26 people. We offer short breaks, convalescence, long term for people of retirement age and above. We are able to provide full personal care. Most nursing needs can be met by Community nurses who visit Devon Lodge as required. In this way we aim to avoid the need for residents to move from the home, if their care needs change.

During a resident’s stay at Devon Lodge, staff actively encourage and promote the residents to maintain contact with their relatives, friends and advocates. Apart from the main lounge, there is a dining room, a conservatory and a quiet lounge to entertain visitors should a resident prefer not to use their room. Visiting is always welcome, please liaise with the management to find out more regarding safe visiting for infection prevention control.

Suggestions and complaints

Residents at Devon Lodge are actively encouraged to participate in the resident’s meetings where they can voice their opinions on a generalised basis. Questionnaires are used to help improve the quality of care and service they receive from the Home. Our complaints procedure allows more serious concerns to be dealt with immediately by management, in complete confidence.

Philosophy

Most importantly, Devon Lodge places great emphasis on maintaining the privacy and dignity of its residents. Each resident has a right to respect and confidentiality in personal, medical, social or legal matters. We pride ourselves in providing the highest standards of care and hope each resident who enters Devon Lodge will come to regard it as Home.
